Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Oman National Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 75697. Oman tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Umar - Bin-Aziz, Simsar, El-Usman, Haj-Omar - Radwan, El-Latif, Mahdi, Warraq, Shareef - Haytham.

This part of the game was a standoff between the teams.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Suriyah coach let Diaa' Rihawi replace Abou Al Khouja after 46 minutes.
